The Welfare Unit handles cases throughout San Diego County ranging from general relief to foster care issues.

The Welfare Unit plans to expand community outreach to church groups and other non-profit organizations. Services range from advice to representation in litigation.

We have presented CalWorks and food stamp presentations to local domestic violence shelters.

Collaborations:

Women’s Resource Center in North County:  We work with the local Women’s Resource Center in North County on rectifying problems with people in their shelter not being provided with immediate need CalWorks and Food Stamp services by the County.

Social Services:  We work with the County social services in resolving local problems with CalWorks and Food Stamps.

Welfare Advocates:  We work with our welfare advocates throughout the state in meeting with the California Department of Health and Human Services in resolving statewide issues related to CalWorks and Food Stamps.

National Youth Law Center:  We work with the National Youth Law Center on the new child support hearing procedures implemented by California.
