Services of the Legal Aid Society are made possible by grants from:

Mitchell Trust provides partial funding for the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, Inc.

Legal Services Corporation (LSC) promotes equal access to the courts by making grants to provide high-quality civil legal assistance for those who would be otherwise unable to afford legal counsel.

Alliance Healthcare Foundation focuses on improving the healthcare delivery system for the medically under-served. As San Diego County's only non-profit, independent healthcare foundation, they support progressive programs and give a public voice to the on-going, critical healthcare needs of communities.

California Endowment works to expand affordable, quality health care for underserved individuals and communities, and to promote fundamental improvements in the health status of all Californians.

California State Bar Legal Services Trust Fund (IOLTA): this source represents interest earned on lawyers' trust accounts which is collected by the State Bar Trust Fund and distributed to the Society. The fund is rate-sensitive and prevailing low interest rates affect this important funding source.

City of San Diego Community Block Grant: money directed from HUD to the City of San Diego are distributed subject to annual vote of the city council at the beginning of the fiscal year.

County of San Diego: the county funds Health Advocacy and applications for disability payments through the Federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Program.

Other funding sources include the legal community of San Diego County, Campaign for Legal Services, and the generosity of various law firms, companies and individuals who donate their time and resources.
